About Dr. Jean-Paul Guiboux
Jean-Paul Guiboux, M.D. is a sought-after hand surgeon who has been widely published in professional journals. He has written articles for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, the American Journal of Diseases of Children, and Spine, all of which have been cited in other publications by numerous experts in the field of orthopaedics. In addition to writing and research, he regularly presents at professional conferences and was named as one of the most respected hand surgeons in the Detroit area by Hour Detroit Magazine.
From 1997 to 1999, Jean-Paul Guiboux, M.D. worked at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, where he performed hand surgery, took care of his patients, and taught residents. In 2001, he opened his own orthopaedic care center, Michigan Hand and Wrist, in Novi. In his practice, Dr. Guiboux treats conditions of the hands and upper extremities with both surgical and non-surgical methods, including reconstructive microsurgery, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Dr. Guiboux attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences in 1988. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1991 and continues to lend his time and energy to the U.M. Medical School Alumni Society.
When not providing modern orthopaedic care to his patients at Michigan Hand and Wrist, Jean-Paul Guiboux, M.D. enjoys giving back to his community. One example of this is his support of the documentary film “Lemonade: Detroit.” Dr. Guiboux served as a producer of the film, which focused on the resiliency, hope, and optimism of Detroit community in the wake of the automobile industry’s decline in recent years.
